The very first company assignment was an open-systems based, client-server development task. Since then, AnswerZ has refined its development methodology and broadened its tools and language experience.

Recent application development assignments include:

  • AnswerZ provided a consultant who was integral to the system design, development and implementation for a community development application currently in use within two government organisations. AnswerZ continues to provide support services for these applications and has recently assisted in a redevelopment exercise to provide a web-based solution suitable for two-way satellite access.
  • AnswerZ provided the Systems Architect for an integrated document management and workflow application built around Microsoft’s Exchange server for a major government department. This project has been commissioned and is currently under consideration by several other government bodies.
  • AnswerZ provided application architecture and security input into two major SOAP/XML/SAML/WS-SECURITY development assignments involving Centrelink and DEWR. AnswerZ continues to provide high-level application architecture services to Centrelink as well as Java development services focussed on providing n-Tier J2EE solutions on the IBM Websphere platform.
  • AnswerZ consultants developed and deployed Centrelink’s first Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) applications and have provided mentoring and training of Java development staff in the use of Struts, Ant, Xdoclet, JMX, JDBC, LDAP and other important J2EE technologies.

AnswerZ has also established a separate development organisation, Advanced Systems Research and Development (ASRAD), to commercialise a number of products - particularly in the Internet security arena. These products include:

  • NetNinja®
  • NetKelly®
  • NetPI® and
  • MailMate®

These products are currently deployed in a number of sites including the Department of Employment and Work Relations (reputedly the largest Australian Government Internet site), Tenix Defence Industries and Centrelink. The selection of these products by these mainstream organisations is testament to the ability of AnswerZ development personnel to produce high quality, industry leading, efficient and robust applications.
